The Western Galilee Hospital in Nahariya on Saturday reported a jaw-dropping figure: there had been 28 babies born at the facility in the previous 24 hours.
Among the newborns were counted 15 boys and 13 girls, including a set of twins.
The number of births was nearly double the daily average at the hospital.
Nahariya is Israel’s most northern coastal city, with a population of about 50,000.
