Maccabi Tel Aviv is Israel’s basketball champion. Again.

On Thursday night it defeated Maccabi Rishon Lezion 82-69 at Tel Aviv’s Nokia Arena for a third consecutive championship.

The victory was Tel Aviv’s 18th in a row over Rishon, the second longest streak in the league, dating back to May 4, 2006.

In the 57 years that the State Cup has been awarded, Maccabi Tel Aviv has now won the championship 39 times.
