A Jerusalem man was arrested Sunday for stabbing and wounding a 10-year-old girl who police said was a family member, over an apparent domestic dispute.
The girl, stabbed several times with a pair of scissors, was taken to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in serious condition, police and the hospital said.
The hospital said she was put in an induced coma and hooked up to a respiratory.
Police believe the man attacked the girl at a home in the Neve Yaakov neighborhood of the capital after losing his temper. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
According to some reports, the man was dating the girl’s mother.
Another person was also arrested, police said.
