Fifteen people were injured at the funeral of Rabbi Chaim Greineman, a prominent religious leader from the ultra-Orthodox Tel Aviv suburb of Bnei Brak, which took place on Sunday morning.

The Hebrew news site Ynet reported that a man fell from a wall during the procession and was taken to Mayanei Hayeshua Medical Center in Bnei Brak with mild to moderate injuries. Fourteen others who fainted or suffered other kinds of injury were treated by Magen David Adom crews, who were on standby at the funeral.

Approximately 400 police officers provided security for the funeral, and several streets were closed to accommodate the large crowds of attendees.

Rabbi Greineman, a jurist and scholar of Jewish religious law, or halacha, was considered a successor to his uncle, Rabbi Avrohom Yeshaya Karelitz – better known as the Chazon Ish after the title of his major work. Greineman, who died on Friday morning in Bnei Brak, was buried this morning in the cemetery named for his relative.
