2 killed as light aircraft crashes near Tel Adashim in north

Two people were killed when a light aircraft crashed near Tel Adashim in northern Israel,  medical officials said.

The Magen David Adom emergency service said when paramedics arrived, neither of the men had any vital signs, and medics immediately began working to resuscitate them.

The two occupants, both men in their fifties, were taken to the Emek Medical Center in Afula in a critical condition. The hospital later pronounced them dead.

There were no reports of injuries to others on the ground and the plane appeared to come down in an agricultural area.

Fire and Rescue services arrived to deal with spilled fuel from the aircraft.

The cause of the crash was not immediately clear.
