A three-car accident near Dead Sea left a man in his 40s and a 10-year-old girl dead Wednesday night.

Five additional people were injured in the crash, two seriously and three moderately. They were taken to Jerusalem’s Hadassah Ein Kerem and Beersheba’s Soroka hospitals.

The accident occurred near the Lido junction, situated at the northern tip of the Dead Sea.

Paramedics from Magen David Adom and firefighters treated the wounded, evacuating the victims via helicopter.

“This was a serious frontal collision involving three vehicles,” paramedic Yehuda Amitai told Walla news. “One car flew into a ditch next to the road.”
