2 more arrested over fatal Beersheba grenade explosion
Police say blast in which man was killed by his own grenade was intended to be part of an attack on a prisons service official
Two more people have been arrested in connection to the death of a 30-year-old man in an explosion in the southern city of Beersheba last month, police announced Wednesday.
According to the findings of a police investigation, the man was apparently killed by his own grenade when attempting an attack on a senior Israel Prisons Service official living in the area.
The explosion occurred shortly after midnight on November 12. Police found the lifeless body of the man; medics were unable to revive him.
A third alleged accomplice, a 24-year-old Beersheba resident, was arrested earlier this month.
That suspect was remanded on charges of abetting in a crime, use of explosives, possession of weapons, and attempted aggravated assault.
The police statement said prosecutors intend to file an indictment against the man, whose remand has been further extended until Thursday.
