2 men seriously hurt in apparent car bombing in Nahariya
One of the injured reportedly the relative of a senior mob figure; police searching for suspects
Two people were seriously hurt Thursday in an apparent car bombing in Nahariya.
The Magen David Adom ambulance service said paramedics gave the two initial treatment before taking them to the northern coastal city’s Galilee Medical Center.
The two, who are 19 and 30 years old, were in serious, unstable stable condition with wounds to their limbs, according to MDA.
One of the injured men is reportedly a relative of a senior organized crime figure. According to the Walla news site, there was an attempt to kill him at a pool hall in Nahariya a year-and-a-half ago and his father was killed in a hit several years ago.
Police said they were searching the area for suspects and that forensic investigators and sappers were on the scene. An investigation has been opened.
There was no immediate confirmation that the blast was caused by a bomb.
Images from the scene showed the damaged vehicle, with fire trucks and other first responders.
