Two women and a two-year-old girl were killed in the early hours of Wednesday morning when a truck collided with their car near Haifa.
Angelique Na’im, 32, her daughter Chloe Na’im, and her sister Olga Ashkar, 38, died in the crash. Their husbands, who were with them in the car, were both seriously injured and remained in critical condition Wednesday morning.
Police named 62 year-old Haifa resident Kamal Diab as the driver of the truck, according to Channel 10 news. He reportedly ran a red light before colliding with the car. Police suspect he was under the influence of illegal substances at the time of the crash, according to Army radio.
The crash took place at the Fureidis Junction south of the northern Haifa metropolis at just after 1 a.m.
