2 workers die from electrocution in central Israel
Pair were apparently electrified in a field near Moshav Herut when truck-mounted crane struck power lines
Two men died Friday after being electrocuted in a field in central Israel.
The two workers, both in their 20s, were apparently electrocuted when a crane mounted on a truck collided with power lines in an open area near Moshav Herut, according to the Magen David Adom ambulance service.
Paramedics said they found the two lying unconscious on the ground some 10 meters from the truck, before attempting to resuscitate them.
The two were brought in critical condition to Meir Medical Center in Kfar Saba, where they were pronounced dead.
Police launched an investigation into the incident, which they described as a “fatal work accident.” A representative of the firm they work for was summoned questioning.
According to police, the two are from the Galilee, but no further details were given on their identities.
It remained unclear how they were electrocuted.
