3 men, toddler killed in car accidents nationwide
Two men killed in collision south of Sderot; another dies after car flips over; boy, 3, dies of wounds in central Israel
Three men and a toddler were killed in three separate car accidents on Monday.
The first collision took place in southern Israel, on Highway 232 between Kibbutz Mefalsim and Kibbutz Sa’ad.
Two men in their 60s were killed in the accident, which involved three cars.
The two men were trapped in their vehicle, and by the time the emergency responders arrived and extracted them from the car, they were pronounced dead.
Another woman in her 60s was injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.
The second deadly crash killed a man in his 30s in the Jordan Valley, after his car flipped over.
In a third incident, a toddler was hit by a car in Qalansawe in central Israel. The three-year-old boy was taken to the hospital in serious condition, and later died of his wounds, according to the Ynet news website.
According to Channel 10, 27 people have been killed on Highway 232 since 2005, and 63 were seriously injured.
Some 930 people have been hurt on the highway, which connects many of the Gaza border towns, in the past decade.
