IDF opens investigation after incident in firing zone in central Israel forest

Three children, all around 14 years old, were injured on Sunday after an unexploded ordnance they were playing with blew up.
The explosion took place in the Kula forest near the community of Elad in central Israel.
The IDF said the incident occurred in an IDF firing range. An investigation was launched to determine how they entered the live fire zone and other circumstances surrounding the incident, the army said in a statement.

The Magen David Adom ambulance service said one of the teenagers was seriously injured, while the other two were lightly hurt.
It said the three, suffering from shrapnel wounds, were treated at the scene.
They were later taken to Petah Tikva’s Beilinson Hospital.
