484 days in Gaza: Released hostages Keith & Aviva Siegel recount the horror

In a two-part episode of the new web series 'Through the Land,' we walk and talk with the tireless Siegels outside their current home in the north to hear how their fight continues

Keith and Aviva Seigel were abducted from Kibbutz Kfar Aza on October 7, 2023, when thousands of Hamas-led terrorists stormed southern Israel to kill some 1,200 people and abduct 251, sparking the war in Gaza.

Aviva was released during the hostage release and ceasefire agreement in November 2023, after 51 days in captivity, and dedicated herself to her husband’s release.

After 484 days in Hamas captivity, Keith Siegel’s first question as he boarded the helicopter back home was whether his mother was still alive.

In these two episodes of “Through the Land,” we hear their harrowing story of captivity and survival. Told not in a studio, but on foot, this walk is not just a recounting — it’s a reckoning with what hostage-taking means for families, nations, and the soul of a people.
