An 80-year-old resident of the coastal city of Netanya was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of sexually abusing his partner’s granddaughter, a 10-year-old girl.
The girl was showering at her grandmother’s home in Netanya when the alleged abuse took place.
On Thursday, the Petah Tikva Magistrate’s Court extended the suspect’s detention until Sunday.
According to the Maariv daily, the girl gave a detailed account of the incident to investigators, while the accused did not deny or outright admit to the claims against him during police questioning.
