A Sudanese man was killed and nine other African migrants were wounded in separate incidents of violence in south Tel Aviv early Saturday, police and medics said.

In one deadly incident, a Sudanese man in his early 30s was shot dead on Har Zion Boulevard. Police said the murder was apparently the result of a drug-related fight between criminals.

Separately, a brawl broke out in the Hatikvah neighborhood at around 2:30 a.m. among Eritrean migrants, where first responders found eight injured people at the scene of the fighting.

The fight appeared to have been between supporters and opponents of the regime in Asmara.

A 20-year-old was rushed to a hospital in serious condition with penetrating wounds to his body, the Magen David Adom emergency service said. Three others were in moderate condition with similar injuries, and four more were lightly wounded.

Minutes later, medics received a call about another man around the age of 40 in a nearby area who had apparently fled the brawl. He was also in serious condition with penetrating wounds and rushed to a Tel Aviv hospital.

Police said Saturday that they had arrested 15 people linked to the Eritrean brawl.

South Tel Aviv was the scene of intense clashes earlier this month between supporters of the Eritrean regime, its opponents, and police. Over 150 were injured in the fighting and dozens were arrested. The area is home to a large population of migrants from North Africa, some of them asylum-seekers.
