AIPAC announces new director of its Jerusalem office
Cameron Brown to take over as influential pro-Israel lobby’s Israel director in early December
The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) has named Cameron Brown as the new head of its Jerusalem office.
Brown, 39, will be succeeding Leslie Levy Mirchin as the influential pro-Israel lobby’s Israel director in early December. His official title will be general manager of AIPAC-AIEF (American Israel Education Foundation) Israel.
A native of Woodstock, Illinois, Brown is currently teaching at Hebrew University’s Leonard Davis Institute for International Relations, focusing on the Arab-Israel conflict, US foreign policy and public opinion, civil-military relations, war onset and termination and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
He has until recently also been a research fellow at the Tel Aviv-based Institute for National Security Studies and deputy director of the Global Research in International Affairs Center at the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya.
Brown holds a PhD in political science from the University of California, San Diego, a master’s degree in the Modern Middle East from the Hebrew University and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois.
