Alan Parsons brings eye to the TLV sky

The alternative 70s rocker invites two Israeli musicians to share the stage

Alternative 70s rocker Alan Parsons performed Tuesday night to an appreciative audience in Tel Aviv’s Charles Bronfman Auditorium.

Parsons said it was a thrill to be in Israel again. The rocker made headlines the day before his concert when he rejected calls from Roger Waters of Pink Floyd to boycott Israel and cancel his concert.

The audience offered standing ovations and much applause throughout the concert, reported Ynet, particularly for the band’s best-known pieces, including “Eye in the Sky,” “The Turn of a Friendly Card” and “Don’t Answer Me.”

For “Old and Wise,” Parsons invited Israeli rocker Aviv Geffen onstage to perform with him. The two musicians recently announced a collaboration on Geffen’s upcoming English-language album with Steve Wilson of Porcupine Tree.

Parsons also surprised the audience with Israeli singer Marina Maximilian performing “Eye in the Sky,” at the end of the show.
