Anti-Semitic Elmo detained in NY
Man dressed as Sesame Street character is removed from Central Park after obscene rants against Jews
A man dressed as a Sesame Street character was arrested Monday in Central Park, Manhattan after an obscenity-ridden rant at passersby.
Authorities removed a man dressed in a bright red Elmo costume from the park after numerous reports that he had harassed tourists with loud and lewd remarks, the website Gothamist reported.
One of the complaints against the oversized muppet-man was that he was spouting a “vitriolic anti-semetic [sic] rant” at park attendees.

In a video last week, he is seen shouting at shocked bystanders about the “Jewish conspiracy.”
Police handcuffed the Elmo-bedecked, middle-aged man and placed him in an ambulance, and, according to The Smoking Gun took him to New York-Presbyterian Hospital for observation.
The reports could not independently confirm whether the man was in fact Elmo.
