At Berkeley, Israel is worse than IS
Video experiment shows students unmoved by jihadist flag, while Israeli flag draws angry charges of genocide and child murder
The question of whether Israel is worse than the Islamic State terror group has mostly been settled in the Jewish state’s favor, outside of certain Middle Eastern capitals at least, but on one American college campus it’s apparently not so clear.
A video posted online this week shows filmmaker Ari Horowitz waving an Islamic State flag and an Israel flag on the campus of the University of California Berkeley to test which garners the more public condemnation.
Dismally, campus-goers were outraged to see the blue and white, while the brutal IS terror group got nary a shout.
Raising the flag of the jihadists (albeit upside down) and shouting anti-American slogans, Horowitz was met with stares, a wave, a fist pump, and one “good luck,” on the famously liberal campus.
One student approached him angrily… to tell him to stop smoking.
But when he was waving the flag of the Jewish state, the college students didn’t hold back, accusing him of murdering children, hailing Hamas, and throwing some profanity in the mix.
“Israel is a thief in the night, and a thief in the day,” one shouts. Another says: “It’s the greatest, Hamas,” while the guy who steals the show says the Israeli flag represents the “psychological genocide of this planet.”
Horowitz explained the goal of the project as follows:
“I have always thought that there was no connection between intellect and wisdom. To put this theory to the test, I headed out to the University of California, Berkeley,” he wrote on Fox News.
“Students at Berkeley clearly have a lot of intellect; it is one of the most prestigious and selective universities in the country. But do they have wisdom? I went to the bucolic campus armed with a flag that represents the greatest evil known today, ISIS. If these are our best and brightest then we should all be afraid, very afraid,” he wrote, using an alternative acronym for the terror group.
“The shocking video above unfortunately proves once and for all that there is in fact no connection between intellect and wisdom.”
