Aviv Geffen hosts Brit Jake Bugg for one-off show

'The Voice Israel' judge 'really likes' the English music phenomenon

Israeli music icon Aviv Geffen will host the hugely popular singer/songwriter and guitarist Jake Bugg at a concert Thursday, March 2 at the Tel Aviv exhibition grounds.

For Geffen, the upcoming performance is a chance to celebrate 20 years since his 1997 album, “Full Moon,” with several fellow musicians who clearly appeal to him musically.

“Aviv really likes Jake Bugg who gladly said YES to Aviv’s invitation to play with him,” said a spokesperson for Geffen.

When asked if Bugg is as familiar with Geffen, she said she wasn’t sure.

Geffen, currently a judge on “The Voice Israel,” has often collaborated with other artists in his long career.

Along with Bugg, who is headlining as one of the special guests, are fellow Israelis Dudu Tassa, Orit Shachaf and Avi Buffalo, and Shahin Najafi, an Iranian singer and political refugee.

Geffen and Najafi spent time together in the studio on Monday, said Geffen’s spokesperson.

Bugg, who first came to stardom when he was just 17, released his third album, “On My One,” last June.
