Shots fired on a Bat Yam beach on Saturday afternoon were the result of an argument between two restaurateurs over placement of chairs on the sand.

According to initial police findings, the owners of the “Momi Bik” and “Tutim” beachside cafes, located 10 meters apart, squabbled over the location of chairs. The verbal disagreement escalated into physical violence and ended with guns being fired into the air.

The Sela Beach was packed with revelers, many of whom fled the scene when gunfire was heard.

Monica Kornovsky, one of the beachgoers, told Maariv: “Security guards arrived immediately, followed by the police who gained control over the shooters. We heard the shots, and every one just fled to the shoreline.”

The police arrested the two men involved in the shooting and are looking for two other men who are suspected of participating in the incident. Officers also found a stun grenade in one of the two restaurants.
