Ben Gurion security finds weapons parts in traveler’s bags

Man heading to Stockholm from Tel Aviv transferred to police for questioning; criminal or nationalistic motive ruled out

A man traveling to Stockholm, Sweden from Tel Aviv on Thursday was found in possession of a number of weapons parts in his bags.

The disassembled materiel was discovered during a security check at Ben Gurion Airport.

Authorities have ruled out criminal or nationalistic intent, but the man was transferred to Israel Police for questioning.

According to an Army Radio report, the Israel Airports Authority sent out a press statement reminding travelers to check their bags before arrival at the airport.
