Border Police arrest Palestinian for attempted attack on soldier
26-year-old suspect bearing large knife admits to trying to attack IDF personnel outside Jerusalem

Border Police officers and IDF soldiers on Friday afternoon arrested a 26-year-old Palestinian man at the Hizme checkpoint for possession of a large knife.
The Palestinian suspect aroused suspicions after approaching the checkpoint on the outskirts of Jerusalem wearing a long coat. Temperatures in the capital reached a high of 32° C (89° F) on Friday afternoon.
On inspecting the suspect, Border Police and IDF soldiers found a large knife on his person, and during interrogation the man reportedly confessed to planning to kill a soldier at the checkpoint.
The suspect was taken into custody for further interrogation by Israeli authorities.
