Breakthrough reported in 30-year-old murder case; court issues sweeping gag order
Nazareth Magistrate's Court order, valid until January 25, forbids publication of any details of case, or any details that could identify those involved
The Nazareth Magistrate’s Court on Saturday published a sweeping gag order barring the publication of details on a three-decade-old murder case, as Hebrew media outlets reported a “dramatic breakthrough” in the investigation as a result of new information that was uncovered.
The order, valid until January 25, forbids publication of any details of the case or any details that could identify those involved.
It was originally approved on December 25, according to the Maariv daily.
Channel 12 news described the case as “an affair that many security officials have worked on, over many years, and in which many resources have been invested.”
Several outlets identified it as a criminal (as opposed to terrorism-related) murder case.
The case is being handled by the police’s Lahav 433 major crimes unit.
