Two pedestrians were killed Wednesday after being struck by a bus on Jabotinsky Street in the central Israeli city of Petah Tikva.

A Magen David Adom team that arrived on the scene found one victim, a man in his 50s, trapped under the bus, and pronounced his death immediately.

The second victim, also male and approximately 30 years old, was rushed to the emergency room at Beilinson Hospital, but he succumbed to his wounds shortly after arrival.

Israel has been experiencing its worst storm in 20 years with snow showers and freezing temperatures recorded throughout the country. It was not immediately clear whether or not the bus accident was caused by poor road conditions.

Five pedestrians have been run over and killed in the past year on the same Petah Tikva road, according to Israel Radio.
