Celebrities gush about designer Alon Livne
A behind-the-scenes look at the Israeli designer's runway show
With a photo of Paris Hilton sporting one of his creations raking in the Likes on Instagram, Israeli designer Alon Livne garnered reams of compliments and exclamations for his second runway show, held Tuesday at New York Fashion Week.
Last fall, a chiffon-paneled gown got him noticed at his first New York Fashion Week, particularly when megastar Beyonce chose to wear the so-called Freakum dress — redesigned for her in cherry-red — during her international concert tour, “The Mrs. Carter Show.”
Now Livne’s got celebrity Hilton, singer 50 Cent, and other fashionistas gushing about his spring 2014 designs, calling him their favorite new go-to designer:
“Loving this sexy @AlonLivne dress. Can’t wait to see his other designs on the runway today. #TalentedDesigner,” quoth Hilton on Instagram.
Livne has worked as a designer since he was 17, training first at Alexander McQueen in London and then with Roberto Cavalli in Milan, where he focused on evening wear. He went on to win first prize on “Project Runway” Israel during the 2009 season.
Livne’s designs first appeared on the New York runway during last year’s fashion week, garnering accolades for his sci-fi, sexy sorceress look.
