Dear Times of Israel Community member,
Tune in now (or on-demand) to a new Behind the Headlines interview, exclusively for the ToI Community.
Award-winning chef and restaurateur Michael Solomonov sits down with ToI Culture & Lifestyle Editor Jessica Steinberg to discuss his role in the Israeli and Jewish culinary worlds, how he and his team have pivoted throughout COVID-19, and his new digital live-at-home cooking series, Bringing Israel Home. He also gives a quick tutorial on how to make kanafeh – halloumi cheese wrapped in shredded filo pastry with a honey-orange blossom syrup and pistachio garnish!
Solomonov is a recognized champion of Israel’s extraordinarily diverse and vibrant culinary landscape. He is co-owner of CookNSolo Restaurants with hospitality entrepreneur Steve Cook. Together they own Philadelphia’s Zahav, the trailblazing restaurant where Solomonov is Chef, which has put the rich melting pot of Israeli cuisine at the forefront of American dining today. Solomonov is the co-author of three cookbooks, and recipient of four James Beard culinary awards.
