Israel Unlocked: Acre, the Jewel of the Mediterranean Sea [TUESDAY]

Dear Times of Israel Community member,

Please join us this Tuesday, August 3, for a special installment of our Israel Unlocked virtual tour series, exclusive to the ToI Community. This week, we will go up the coast to Acre, one of the most ancient ports on Mediterranean Sea, and a city which has changed hands many times throughout history.

Our expert guide Gadi Ben-Dov will guide us as we explore some of its colorful history, walk through the local marketplace, and escape through the secret tunnels to the harbor. See the magnificent sea views and old walls, and examine the depths of the “Knight Halls,” excavated for decades to expose the grandeur and size of the Crusaders buildings. Today the modern city is an example of coexistence among all types of citizens of Israel — Jews, Muslims and Christians, all represented within the old city walls.
