British police searching for a man wanted for robbing store who bears an uncanny resemblance to the 'Friends' actor

When police in Blackpool in the UK asked the public for help identifying a suspect in a store robbery, the answers were unanimous — that’s Ross from “Friends.”
The suspect, pictured stealing beer from a store, bore an uncanny resemblance to actor David Schwimmer.
The internet was quick to respond, with many making “Friends” jokes.
“He must have been on a break,” quipped many.
It wasn’t long before Schwimmer chimed in too, with a parody video and an alibi.
And Blackpool police responded.
“Thank you to everyone for your speedy responses. We have investigated this matter thoroughly and have confirmed that David Schwimmer was in America on this date,” they said in a Facebook post.
