Denver buses carry anti-Israel ads during JNF conference
Colorado BDS holds 'counter-conference' with protests outside governor's mansion and JNF session
Advertisements accusing Israel of “ethnic cleansing” appeared on Denver-area buses while the Jewish National Fund held its national conference in the city.
The ads, which include the slogan “Want peace? Stop ethnic cleansing in Palestine,” were sponsored by the website Notaxdollarstoisrael.com and the Colorado BDS Campaign, the Intermountain Jewish News reported.
The JNF’s national conference draws thousands of participants annually. This year’s four-day conference in Denver kicked off on October 25 and ended Monday.
Colorado BDS held what it called a “counter-conference,” October 24-28, to coincide with the JNF session. It included plans for protests outside the Governor’s mansion and the JNF conference at the Grand Hyatt hotel.
The Anti-Defamation League issued a statement calling the advertisements “inaccurate, inflammatory, and divisive,” though it acknowledged that they constituted protected speech under the First Amendment.
