Deputy minister proposes minute of silence for Syrian victims
Ayoub Kara urges Israeli action on neighbor's ongoing conflict
Deputy Minister Ayoub Kara (Likud) on Monday proposed a minute of silence to commemorate the victims of the violence in Syria at the opening of each Knesset session this week, according to Israel National News.
In a letter to Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin, Kara requested that parliamentarians “open the meetings of the Knesset this week with a minute of silence in honor of the helpless women, children and babies murdered every day and every hour by a brutal dictator, including use of chemical weapons against them.”
The Druze MK added, “Israel as a neighbor and a democratic state cannot merely pay only lip service.”
Kara, the deputy minister for Development of the Negev and Galilee, claimed on Saturday that Israel is willing to send doctors to Jordan to treat the wounded from Syria, and may even be willing to receive Syrian casualties of war in Israel.
On Saturday Kara also accused the Assad regime of using chemical weapons against Syrian civilians, and said he has seen photos that attest to that.
