Deputy PM: Iran can be stopped

Deputy prime minister and Minister of Strategic Affairs Moshe Yaalon said Thursday that he believes Iran can be stopped by Israel.

“Based on my military experience, I believe anything fortified by man can also be penetrated by man, so I believe we can hit every target,” Yaalon told the Herzliya conference.

Yaalon also said that Tehran is trying to develop missiles with a range of 6,250 miles (10,000 kilometers) that could reach the United States.

Yaalon’s remarks follow comments by the U.S. defense secretary, Leon Panetta, who recently said U.S. bunker-buster bombs were not powerful enough to penetrate all of Iran’s defenses.
