Another man killed in shooting in Jaffa amid spate of street violence nationwide
A man was killed Monday night and five others were wounded in a massive street brawl between two warring families in the Ras al-Amoud neighborhood of East Jerusalem.
The deceased, who was identified by authorities only as a 30-year-old resident of the Arab neighborhood, was critically wounded after he was stabbed in the altercation. He succumbed to his wounds shortly after the fight.
Police said massive forces were deployed to the neighborhood to separate the two groups.
Four people were arrested late Monday on suspicion of involvement in the violence.
The cause of the latest violence in the neighborhood is not immediately clear.
Police said late Monday that an investigation has been launched.
In a separate incident, one man was killed and another was wounded in a shooting in Jaffa early Tuesday.
Both men were in their thirties. Police said an initial investigation suggested the motive for the shooting was criminal.
In Hadera, a street brawl left two men in their twenties moderately hurt on Monday. They were taken to the city’s Hillel Yaffe Medical Center with stab wounds in their lower body.
And in Petah Tikvah, a migrant worker was moderately wounded Monday in yet another street fight on Bar Kochba Street. He was taken to Beilinson Hospital, where he is listed in moderate but stable condition.
