A woman was killed Saturday in a multi-car collision in central Israel that left several others wounded.

The woman, 80, was critically wounded in the crash on Route 444 southeast of Tel Aviv and taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Paramedics said four other people were wounded: a 43-year-old woman, who was moderately hurt; two girls, aged 7 and 8, who were lightly injured; and a 17-year-old girl who suffered wounds to her limbs, but whose condition was not specified by the Magen David Adom ambulance service.

All of them were taken to Sheba Medical Center in Ramat Gan for treatment.

Police said they were looking into what caused the crash, which involved three vehicles.
