Event singer fatally shot at private party in Rishon Lezion
Man manages to call brother who arrives at the scene and is promptly shot as well
An event singer was fatally shot during a private party in Rishon Lezion early Friday morning, following a dispute at a restaurant in the city.
Two men were arrested in the incident after an initial six were detained, including the owners of the restaurant.
An initial police investigation found that — for a yet-unknown reason — an argument developed between the singer, a man in his 40s, and one of the partygoers. The latter pulled out a gun and shot the singer.
The singer then called his brother, who arrived at the scene a short time later and was shot himself, police said.
The brother was taken by paramedics to Assaf Harofeh Medical Center in moderate-to-serious condition.
For an undetermined reason, paramedics did not take the singer, who was shot in the head, to hospital. He arrived at Wolfson Medical Center in Bat Yam of his own volition in critical condition and was later pronounced dead.
