A fake bomb was discovered in a carriage on the Jerusalem light rail system on Monday morning, in the second such instance in the last week.

The device, a box with wires protruding from it inside an abandoned bag, was investigated by the bomb squad. The incident caused a slowdown in rail service in the capital as officials dealt with the situation.

On Friday, a similar device was found planted on the Jerusalem light rail track. The police said the dummy bombs are likely an attempt to terrorize Jerusalem residents and asked citizens to remain vigilant. It is standard policy in Israel that abandoned bags in public locations are investigated by police.
