Fatah fighter eats snake in terror promotion video
Film also shows uniformed men practicing attacking, kidnapping Israeli soldiers
The armed wing of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah party has produced a new video showing preparations for a possible abduction of an Israeli soldier.
In the clip posted on the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades Facebook page and brought to light by the monitoring group Palestinian Media Watch, one of the fighters can be seen taking a bite from what appears to be a live snake. The man then chews his mouthful before swallowing.
The display is part of a number of short clips showing presumed military prowess, such as running through explosions and shooting hundreds of rounds from assault rifles.
In the background, a motivational song can be heard chanting, “These are the soldiers of the Nidal Division, sons of Yasser [Arafat]. Lions standing guard in the battlefield, they inflict disasters upon the oppressor. They are the heroes of a mighty people, volcanoes and fires against the occupier. A sniper unit in the battalions does not fear death, they are the heroes of a mighty people. Using RPGs and booby-traps, they do not leave even one settlement.”
At one point in the film, a group of uniformed men with masks on their faces are seen dragging a man supposed to represent an Israeli soldier. They push him down a hill before taking him through a makeshift tunnel.
