An 18-year-old American man was indicted on weapons charges by a US federal court this week after an FBI anti-terrorism task force discovered he was seeking weapons in order to “execute” Jews and African Americans.

Shane Smith from Whitehall, New York, was arrested after buying automatic machine guns and ammunition from an undercover FBI agent on August 6.

According to the local Post Star, Smith told the undercover investigators that he wanted to preserve his “race and folk,” and needed the weapons to “execute kikes, coons and get money for the crew.” He explained that he was building “a hit squad” and would need “a sidearm or heavy weapon” in case he got cornered.

The 18-year-old purchased a Colt M16 and MAC-10 military-grade assault rifles, a Beretta handgun, and 120 rounds of armor-piercing ammunition from FBI agents posing as gun sellers that Smith met on a Russian social media site earlier this year.

In June of 2014, Smith was arrested for painting racist graffiti and violent threats on homes and cars. He was placed on probation, and the case was sealed because he was under the age of 18 at the time he committed the hate crime.

Smith’s family insisted to a local TV news crew that he purchased the guns because he loved the military; however neighbors said they believed was dangerous and always locked their doors out of fear.

One unidentified neighbor told WTEN News he was “blown away” by the disturbing content on his Facebook page. “It was mostly hateful, vitriolic words against minorities, and he was talking about hurting them and killing them and uniting them,” he said. “It was pretty crazy.”

On his Facebook page, Smith listed Mein Kampf as his favorite book.

On Monday, Smith was indicted on two counts of illegal possession of a machine gun and one count of possession of an unregistered firearm. He faces up to 10 years in prison and a maximum $250,000 fine on each machine gun possession charge and a maximum $10,000 fine on the silencer possession charge.

Smith’s trial is scheduled to begin on February 1, 2016.
