A fire broke out near the town of Kiryat Tivon, near Haifa, on Saturday morning, a few days after firefighters battled repeated blazes in the area believed to have been set by arsonists.

Eight firefighting crews supported by two aircraft brought the fire under control. No injuries were reported.

The local Fire and Rescue spokesperson said that the fire was a re-ignition of the fire near Kiryat Tivon that broke out on Wednesday.

Saturday’s blaze was the latest in a spate of fires believed to be ideologically driven acts of arson. More than 20 attempted arsons have been recorded in the area around Kiryat Tivon since last Wednesday, Channel 10 reported.

Two thousand residents of Kiryat Tivon were evacuated from their homes on Thursday because of a fire that ignited in the area between the town and a nearby kibbutz. Dozens of fire crews arrived on the scene and brought the fire under control. Two houses burned down and several others were damaged.
