Five arrested in northern city while waving Syrian flags

Five residents of the northern Arab cities of Shfaram and Tamra were arrested overnight while displaying Syrian and PLO flags and blocking a traffic intersection.

According to police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld, the men were engaged in an illegal demonstration, and were arrested after they refused a police request to disperse.

The men, most of whom were in their 40s, were questioned and then released on bail in the morning.
