A four-year-old boy died on Saturday after getting his head stuck in the gate of a house in the city of Or Akiva, near Haifa.
The boy’s aunt, who had come to visit while the boy’s father was at the synagogue, discovered him and called for help.
A Magen David Adom team dispatched to the scene found the boy unconscious, without a pulse or respiration, according to one of the paramedics.
The MDA team attempted to resuscitate the boy, including through CPR, while transporting him in a mobile intensive care unit to Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in nearby Hadera.
There, the boy was pronounced dead.
