From Israel, a brighter breakfast

Industrial designer Avihai Shurin received his first local shout-out for the clever Crembox containers he created a few years back, offering a smart solution for those addicted to the delicate chocolate-covered mounds of marshmallow with a cookie bottom, an Israeli children’s favorite.

Now it seems that Germany likes his latest idea: egg molds in the shape of a sunrise, perfect for the morning sunny-side-up.

Brigitte Magazine, Germany’s largest women’s magazine with a circulation of 800,000, showed their version of “Sunnyside,” as the mold is called, accompanied by two birds made of olive slices and a tree of broccoli. But you can also try the Israeli version, with grass and flowers made from stalks of cucumber and slices of tomato. It’s available through the Monkey Business product design studio.
