A organized crime leader who wrote a book describing how he left that world will be a guest lecturer at the Netanya Academic College, according to a report in Maariv on Sunday.

During the 1980s and ’90s, Yossi Harari was high on Israel’s “most wanted” list, spending a total of 13 years in prison for extortion and various types of violent crime. His last stint in jail ended in 2003.

According to the report in Maariv, second-year law students will hear from Harari about the world of Israeli crime and his decision to leave it and become a legitimate businessman. Some students expressed enthusiasm about the visit from the unusual guest, while others thought it was an unnecessary gimmick.
