The full text of the nuclear agreement emerged online shortly after Iran and world powers reached an accord aimed at curbing Tehran’s nuclear program in exchange for eased economic sanctions on Tuesday.
The Buzzfeed website posted the text, which it obtained from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The agreement is based on key parameters of a Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action agreed upon by Iran and P5+1 countries in April.
According to the text, some restraints placed on Iran’s nuclear enrichment will be lifted after eight years, and not 10 to 15 years as previously reported.
In addition, the document states Tehran will be able to continue enriching uranium at 3.67% for 15 years, and will be able to keep 6,104 centrifuges running, 1,044 of them at the secretive nuclear site of Fordo.
The text outlines an Iranian commitment to only use its nuclear program for peaceful purposes, and includes a clause saying that enrichment will be curbed for eight years.
The 159-page document was not immediately confirmed.
