Police interrogate more suspects over murder of 10-year-old
Unnamed individuals released from custody Tuesday morning
Police took additional suspects into custody for questioning over the death of 10-year-old Anass Sarsur in Kafr Qasim, the child’s father’s attorney told Army Radio reported on Tuesday.
Fareej Anwar, Mohammed Sarsur’s lawyer, said that the individuals interrogated by the police are known by the family but are not relatives, and that they were released from police custody early Tuesday morning.
Police arrested Anass’s father on suspicion of murdering his son and he remains the prime suspect in the investigation.
“These apprehensions show that the police are investigating different leads, and the arrest of Mohammed Sarsur is merely an indication of the pressure placed on the police,” he said.
Anass Sarsur’s body was found in an olive grove near his home in the town of Kafr Qasim early Friday morning after he went missing on Thursday evening.
