Gas leak causes chaos in Herzliya
Hundreds of school pupils sent home and roads shut as emergency services try to locate source of flammable material
A gas leak in a high-rise building caused major disruptions in Herzliya as emergency services closed roads and evacuated the surrounding area on Wednesday.
Hundreds of middle school pupils from the Ze’ev junior high school were sent home as a precaution after the leak was detected in a 19-story building adjacent to the school on Tsamarot street.
A large number of police and firefighters arrived at the scene and closed roads and junctions in the immediate area. They also evacuated the residents of the building.
