Hamas political chief calls on US to stop hindering Palestinian reconciliation
Mashaal will likely meet with Abbas next month regarding transitional government

Khaled Mashaal, the head of Hamas’ political bureau, called Saturday on the US to stop placing roadblocks on the path to reconciliation between his party and the Palestinian Authority.
Mashaal made the comments in a meeting with former US president Jimmy Carter in Cairo, according to Israel Radio.
Hamas and Egyptian sources said that Mashaal and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas will likely meet early next month to discuss terms for the establishment of a transitional government.
