Hundreds of Palestinians demonstrated in Ramallah on Monday against an anti-Islam film that has sparked fury throughout the Muslim world.
Men stood to one side, chanting, “We will sacrifice for you, oh Muhammad.” Women wearing headscarves stood on the other side, holding up large posters in Arabic, including one that read: “The Prophet is more important than my family.”
The protesters shouted “Do not touch our prophet,” reported AFP.
The Palestinian Authority’s Minister for Religious Affairs Mahmoud al-Habash called on the US to apologize for the low-budget movie, named “Innocence of Muslims,” which portrays Mohammad as an unintelligent bloodthirsty womanizer.
On Friday, hundreds of people in East Jerusalem and thousands in the Gaza Strip came out to demonstrate against the film, as similar protests raged in more than 20 countries across the globe.
