The IDF fired toward a group of Palestinians who were tampering with the border fence separating Israel from the northern Gaza Strip on Friday. Two Palestinians were lightly injured.

The group had approached the fence and began tampering with it when an IDF patrol drove by and ordered the men back. The Palestinians began throwing rocks at the patrol, prompting the IDF’s response, according to Ynet.

Palestinian sources said that the fire came from a watchtower near the fence, not from the patrol itself. The injured men were transferred to a hospital inside the Strip.
