The IDF on Monday published security camera footage that claimed to show the Palestinian teen who approached a Border Police post in Hebron last week and was shot by an officer after allegedly attacking her colleague and pressing a fake gun against the officer’s head.

The video shows a male approaching the building and chatting with one of the Border Police officers who is standing outside the structure. He then appears to accost and assault a second officer. No audio accompanies the video.

The male — later identified as 17-year-old Muhammad Ziyad Saleimah — can be seen swinging punches and then struggling with the border policewoman. Two other officers then attempt to assist their colleague, who grapples with her attacker. Once the attacker is thrown off the officer, one of the other border policewomen fires multiple rounds at him.

Earlier reports indicated that the Palestinian man had pressed a gun against the officer’s head, which, after he was shot dead, turned out to be a fake weapon.
